Whodeani Music (inc. Tweet Me Song Project)

Welcome to the ‘Tweet Me’ Song Project, another Whodeani production.

The Tweet Me Project is an interactive online ‘soon to be’ sensation.

Tweet Me started life as a track called ‘Release Me’ written back in time around 1995 by Dean and a couple of friends.

Several months back, Dean had the track running around in his head and for reasons he can’t recall, the words ‘Tweet Me’ popped in replacing the original tracks ‘Release Me’.

With some re-working and retooling of the lyrics off the original track,  as well as tighten up the melody… Tweet Me was born!

Though not officially connected with Twitter, DJ as you may or may not know, is ‘Twitter Obsessed’ hence the rework of this track.

‘Tweet Me’ is an up-tempo dance number that combines current progressive trance sounds with radio friendly pop sensibilities and catchy lyrics that will have you singing along in no time.

It’s just been awarded a Platinum Auddy. In uPlaya language it means ‘the underlying patterns of this song are similar to songs that have been hits for a long time’.  Check out the widget.

So why is it a project rather than just a basic song release?  Because that’s how Whodeani works, out of the ordinary.

It has been created as an interactive piece that we invite you the listener or viewer to become a part of and give your creative skills a workout.

On the audio front, we’ve provided all of the elements for you to work with to create your very own version of the Tweet Me song, whether it be a basic edit, mash up or remix.

To get things moving, I have created this mashup of the track using only Logic Express with the 4 musical elements provided above.

This mix is longer than the original and has been made with the DJ in mind. It features a longer intro and outro for mixing as well as a ‘drop’ point near the middle.

In terms of the ‘sound’ of the track we have made the high hats scratchier, lifted the ‘clap’ in the mix, and made the kick drum a little boomier. Have also enhanced the overall mix to make it a little brighter and delineate some of the sounds (vs the 4 musical elements provided being un-mastered.)

Don’t have the know how to actually construct a new version of the song (or don’t want to)?

Then get your web cam warmed up and record yourself singing, dancing or whatever you reckon works to the track, solo or with some friends.  Be creative and feel free to display your Twitter account within the video (that way your friends will know its you).

There are no limitations (with exception of any offensive material) to becoming a part of this Whodeani project whether it’s just for fun, a keen music interest or even just to promote your Twitter account.

From time to time we will take the best contributions and showcase them here. We also may add some of the more creative video contributions to our main video clip.

Of course, you are free to edit your stuff directly into the main video clip and upload your version in full to the same Youdeani Youtube account.
